Well, what a gorgeous book! Yesterday, I finished reading ‘New Lease of Love’ by Arizona Tape.
This book is part of the promotion which runs until 31st of May 2020. (Click the link above to see all the books)
Here’s the blurb:
It only takes the right person to turn everything around.
An evil stepmother drives Quinn away from home and desperate for money, she ends up working in Rainbow Central, a bar on the verge of going bankrupt. The only saving grace? The beautiful owner and divorcée, Olivia White.
Despite their age difference, the two women work well together trying to breathe a new lease of life into the bar. But what about a new lease of love?
New Lease Of Love is a May-December lesbian romance in the workplace and was previously titled ‘Turning The Tables’.
Just in case you are reading this blog post after the 31st of May, here is the link for Arizona Tape’s Amazon page
Arizona Tape is quite a chaotic, young adult that shares her house with a cactus plant and has sleep dates with her bed. She makes up stories in her head all the time like a crazy person and occasionally writes them down too. But only if the mood is right.
In her spare time, she enjoys discovering new places with her friends, making all kinds of food as she waltzes through her kitchen like a tornado or likes relaxing on her couch with a movie and a cosy blanket.
With her first book, the Love Pill, being published, she fulfilled a lifelong dream and checked off one major thing from her bucket list. But that is just the very beginning, as she is only getting started on her long list of to do’s.
Arizona Tape has written loads of books!
Here is my little review of ‘New Lease of Love’
Five stars *****
A heartwarming story of two souls who find one another after wading through life’s traumas. Quinn is from a rich family but had a difficult upbringing, she runs away from home and finds work in the Rainbow Central bar. I think Quinn is about 21 years old but she is wise beyond her years – that is part of her character. The bar’s owner is Olivia who is older but perhaps not as wise. I’m not going to tell you what happens, but the storyline unfolds well through lots of enjoyable devices such as two characters texting one another. This is a romance, and true to the genre the characters are on an adventure, so there is a bit of peril involved when the past catches up to both of them. I thought the setting of the bar really made this novel, you will find yourself wondering what life is like working late nights pouring drinks and making fancy cocktails with star anise (another great touch from an early chapter). The dynamics of the bar staff provided an enjoyable side story.
Thank you for joining me today, I hope everyone is doing alright …
Join me next week when the Contemporary Lesfic Book Fair continues and I think Edna and Genevieve might be sharing a sample chapter and going on a Kindle countdown deal as part of this promotion.
Happy reading, stay safe, Samantha xx
