Sorry for my quick blog last week, I was recovering from my holiday in Northumberland 🙂
As one of my books Edna and Genevieve Escape From Curmudgeon Avenue is part of a BookFunnel promotion, I thought I would check out some of the other books on special offer until the 2nd of October. Like Edna and Genevieve, the characters in these novels are having a fun time in a second chance romance click on the bold writing here to check out the promo page.
On my travels, I read ‘Chin Up Buttercup’ by Reece Taylor. Apologies, I couldn’t find Reece on Twitter. This book is part of a six part series (although I enjoyed reading this volume as a standalone).
She left town with her heart in tatters …
Avery Sims’s heart was shattered by the love of her life when she left town five years ago. Now she’s back home and ready to start her career and the next chapter of her life—until she sees him again.
He loved her enough to let her go …
Tucker Wilks blames himself for the distance separating him and Avery. He has waited patiently for her return and hopes to rekindle the love they once shared. He must find a way to win back her trust and prove he is worthy of her love.
When unforeseen circumstances throw them together, will Avery forgive Tucker and give their relationship a second chance? Or will they miss their shot at happily ever after?
Chin Up Buttercup is the third installment in the Twin Oaks Series and gives us more insight into the town we are all learning to love. Buy today and jump on the wild ride with our lovable but quirky band of characters and become part of our community.
My Little Review: 5*s
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 September 2020
When a book starts with the line ‘Damn, and double damn’ you know that the main character is going to be fun. In a Sweet Home Alabama style, Avery comes home to Twin Oaks Louisiana after five years in New York. Her ex, Tucker is now a policeman. Look forward to holding your breath, anxious for them to reunite. It turns out the reason they split was a modern day Romeo and Juliet excuse but with more entertaining characters – gun toting Miss Sally and Mee Maw. Of course the novel can’t be an easy resolution, so a crime and Avery being hunted by the bad guy allows Tucker to flex his hero muscles. Happy endings are much better after a heart wrench!
Here are the other two books that Reece Taylor has in this promotion
Happy reading everyone, and speak soon! Samantha xx
