Look, there’s a photo of me driving my mobility scooter! Thank you for visiting me here on my blog, Samantha Henthorn Finds The Right Words. I live happily in Bury near Manchester UK with my fabulous husband (my wonderfully gorgeous grownup daughter has now fled the scene). I have two cats and one dog. I have been writing full time since 2014, I write every day, I read every day, so we more than likely have loads in common.

I currently have seven books available on Amazon (Download and paperback), ‘1962’, ‘Piccalilly’, ‘Quirky Tales to Make Your Day’. And The ‘Curmudgeon Avenue Series’ (currently on book four). I enjoyed writing them, you will enjoy reading them, promise!

My credentials are, I used to be a registered mental health nurse, but had to accept early retirement due to my health. I participated in a two year creative writing course at a local library. I am part way through a Creative Writing and English Literature degree.

I write three types of posts;

  1. Fiction written by myself, from a few words to a short story, accompanied by WordPress photographs or my sketches. Curmudgeon Avenue is serialised on this blog. (Book 2 due to start Dec 19).
  2. Ramblings and amusing observations about life and writing in my monthly ‘writerly’ post. I tend not to write anything serious, but admire those that do. Currently accepting guest posts for my “What’s in a Character Name’ feature.
  3. Book reviews, although my priority is writing my next novel, and/or short story collection, if I read something and enjoy it I will share it. However, if I have nothing useful to say, then I won’t say anything at all. I am not a professional reviewer, and only read what I want to read.
